BNSF Belen, New Mexico Facility
HMCG recently completed surveying and mapping of a large portion of the BNSF site in Belen, New Mexico. The purpose of the survey was to determine existing conditions for several different future improvements contemplated at that facility. A large-scale control survey was conducted to support the various site locations and type of surveying and mapping required for the project. UAV-based imagery was generated for the overall site and adjoining areas comprised of several hundred acres of land. Topographic Surveys and Track Surveys within the immediate project areas were conducted to supplement the Digital Orthophotography. Point clouds were generated from that effort and provided to the design team to serve their analysis of existing conditions. HMCG’s technical approach served to provide a comprehensive and interactive snapshot of current site conditions including offsite irrigation ditch and drain improvements.
